The candidates must have strong research potential and must have obtained their Ph D degree between April 15, 2014 and June 15, 2019. The candidate's application must be supported by a member of our Graduate Program, who will act as Supervisor. A full list of current members of our Program can be found at

The Fellowship's stipend is of R$ 4.100,00 per month (Brazilian reais, tax free). The Fellow will also have a grant to be used for participation in scientific events, under rules determined by the PPGM - UFRJ. The Fellowship duration is of up to 24 months, with an initial period of 12 months, followed by a second period of 12 months pending a positive evaluation, by the PPGM, of a report submitted by the Fellow detailing his scientific activities. Under extraordinary circunstances, the PPGM - UFRJ could grant a second and final 12-month extension, totaling 36 months.
The Fellow could be assigned a teaching load at the Undegraduate or Graduate level of not more than one subject (4 hs per week) per semester in his/her Supervisor's Department.

4 - Letter from a member of our Graduate Program supporting the candidate and accepting being the candidate's Supervisor
5 - Two reference letters

Reference letters must be sent separately, directly to these email addresses by the professors writing the letters.
The selected candidates will receive an offer between June 20, 2019 and July 1, 2019. The name of the Fellow will be published at the Gradute Program's website http://www.pgmat.im.ufrj.br/index.php/pt-br after the process is finished.
