The goal of the PhD program is to train excellent researchers with a solid mathematical background, able to develop research and teaching high level in their area.

The doctoral program has a broad scope that allows intense exchange between its faculty and researchers from other institutions, both national and international. This enables students to participate in networks of high-level research, contributing to their training and academic development.

Many graduates of the program form part of the faculty of many universities, both within Brazil and abroad.

The program has the grade 7 in the CAPES evaluation concept (the maximum grade is 7) and enjoys a good reputation in the community and is nationally and internationally recognized for excellence in research training.

Are available up to 20 PhD positions in a year.
