Resumo/ementa: Topological dynamics, as the name suggests, studies properties of dynamical systems from the topological viewpoint. This general approach allows extra degree of flexibility and is complementary to the more geometric setting encountered in smooth dynamics. Shift spaces arising via symbolic representations can be considered as perfect examples of purely topological actions. The goal of this minicourse would be to present an introduction to the field and may be complementary to minicourses on expansive dynamics and entropy.
